My tips and tricks to the LePage Case

I conducted two formal interviews with Sheriff Brett Myers and Bruce LePage.

It is heartbreaking to hear the inflections when Bruce tears up about Joyce.

I do not believe that a day goes by when Bruce does not miss his sister.

In my interviews, I just wanted formal updates about everything as I put together a story to reference for the documentary.

I am eager to get Joyce’s name out there and see what else I can do to help.

Personal Log and Mental Notes:

I do this when I hyper-obsess over a topic and throw myself into the heap, but this case is bizarre.

Because of the material there is, it is essential to document everything.

I know this isn’t the case; I can let go of it anytime soon.

But at least for the next person, I can leave warnings and notes for them.

Here are my tips for anyone interested in this case and looking for more information:

  1. DO NOT POST TOO MUCH ABOUT THIS ON FACEBOOK WHEN ASKING THE COMMUNITY FOR INFORMATION.

  2. A shady guy called ‘Marty Mar’ on Facebook has been sending me information about myself, including my location, and he has an unhealthy obsession with the military blankets in Joyce’s case.

  3. He also doesn’t have friends on Facebook and posts bizarre cat-themed photos.

  4. I don’t think it’s necessary to report this to the sheriff yet, but something I am keeping my eye on.

  5. Joyce’s case is something that you will get attached to.

  6. You can’t help but read into her.

  7. The more you know about her, the more you love her. Ultimately, she was the girl you would want to be friends with. It’s hard not to connect. This will drive you crazy and force you to want to solve the case faster.

  8. Bruce LePage: Bruce is one of the kindest people you will ever meet. He is incredibly forthcoming with information and will probably offer to take you out for food. He will be your partner for information throughout all of this.

  9. He holds the sheriff in high regard and is among the sweetest and most genuine people I have ever met.

  10. Sherif Myers: If you respect his boundaries on the case, he will help you.

  11. Treat him the way you want to be treated.

  12. Even I, a ditzy blonde in college, being treated like a mutual is incredibly refreshing.

  13. So long as you are kind, respectful, and only trying to help the case, the sheriff will help you in return. He might even show you some cool things and procedures in the office.

I do not plan to stop working on this case, but I figured someday, when I am older, someone else will pick up the case and go through everything.

I have found this case to be perplexing.

At times, you think, “Hey! This is tangible! This guy had to be involved,” The next minute, you realize that the guy is just a drunk country boy lacking social skills.

The case takes lots of twists and turns.

Best of luck to you!
