Thousands of fentanyl pills seized

Detectives with Quad Cities Drug Task Force (QCDTF) arrested a man last Thursday for felony charges related to possession with the intent to deliver fentanyl/heroin.

Detectives from the Asotin County Sheriff’s Office, Lewiston PD, Clarkston PD, Idaho State Police and the Washington State Patrol spent several weeks working on an investigation into 69-year-old Robert Bergamo of Clarkston.

Reports say the investigation led to the arrest of Bergamo, who had been actively trafficking fentanyl into the Lewiston and Lapwai communities.

Reports say Detectives went undercover and purchased narcotics from Bergamo in late December. From there, they continued to monitor his travel and other behavior patterns. Detectives obtained enough information last week to apply for a search warrant for his Clarkston home. During the search, detectives located nearly 2,000 fentanyl pills and a small quantity of a powdered heroin substance.

Bergamo was booked into Asotin County Jail and is expected to be charged with several drug-related crimes, including delivery and possession with intent to deliver narcotics. In addition, he is facing charges in Nez Perce County for similar charges.
